Guide : Profile & Settings

Profile
Under My Profile you will find information displayed about the history of your chess performance and the options you currently have selected. The profile of other registered users can be viewed by clicking on their username from the Rankings page. If you are using this site as a guest your profile information will be reset when you close your browser.

Settings
Under My Settings you will find many options for both graphical styles and preferences for the various exercises. Be sure to scroll down the Settings page to find all the options available. When you have selected your preferences, be sure to hit the 'Update Settings' button to apply the options you have selected.

The options are as follows:

Location - the country you are located in. If you don't choose a country 'Unspecified' will be displayed in your profile.

Blitz range - during Blitz play puzzles are selected within a certain range of your current rating. Decide what that range is by altering this option. Blitz Puzzles with an RD > 200 are also included as their true rating is still unsure.

Mem. Pool Start - Memorize puzzles are selected randomly within the bounds of (Pool Start) and (Pool Start + Pool size).

Mem. Pool Size - Memorize puzzles are selected randomly within the bounds of (Pool Start) and (Pool Start + Pool size). A lower pool size will mean you see the same problems more frequently. Your pool size option is limited to the number of puzzles you have 'unlocked' during play.

Showcoords - whether or not you want to see the File and Rank co-ordinates shown at the sides of the chessboard.

Autoflip - whether or not you want the chessboard to display from black's point of view if you are playing as black for the particular puzzle.

Show Rating - whether or not you want to see the puzzle's rating at the top of the screen. If you know the puzzle has a low or high rating, for some it can influence the way you attempt to solve the puzzle.

Show Stats - whether or not you want to see session stats during the exercises.

Pieces - the style of pieces displayed on the board.

Board - the style of board displayed. If you have some colour schemes or designs you would really like to have available then get in touch with us.
